⚽ ARGENTINA'S HISTORIC COMEBACK
Argentina 3, Egypt 2 — Three Goals in the Final 12 Minutes
The stunner: Egypt led 2-0 (and it should have been 3-0) before the defending champs stormed back in regulation.
Seth Everett: "It was shocking, but you saw it coming. Argentina just kept pushing the accelerator. What fascinates me is how these world-class athletes can't control possession. Egypt had a two-nothing lead and went into a shell — against everything that got them the lead in the first place. Not only did Egypt let Argentina touch the ball, they let them control the play in the second half WITH a lead. That's ridiculous."
⚽ THE VAR CONTROVERSY
The Goal That Got Taken Away
What happened: Egypt scored to go up 2-0 — but VAR overturned it for a foul that occurred A HUNDRED YARDS AWAY from the goal, as Egypt gained possession.
Scott: "Imagine a home run gets called back because two pitches prior it should have been strike three. Once the play is over, it's over. If the roles were reversed and that was Argentina's goal taken off the board..."
Seth: "You would have had a mutiny."
The ball-don't-lie moment: Egypt scored again anyway to reclaim the 2 goal lead — but the phantom overturn changed the math of the entire game.
Seth on FIFA
Seth: "It's not terrible officiating, it's INCONSISTENT. In any domestic league, when a VAR guy makes a weird call like that, it's scrutinized and doesn't happen again. This tournament is bigger than the Olympics, but it's an absolute crap show. It wins because the game is great, not because the tournament is well run."
Credit where due: "Fox has been very critical of FIFA — both game announcers and studio shows. It's the last year of the Fox FIFA contract, so I wonder if they took the guardrails off."
The altitude take: "You do not play a Round of 16 match at Mexico City's altitude when England got there three days before. Think about how many NBA and NFL teams wilt in Denver. That's what made England's effort HEROIC."

⚽ SETH'S DARK HORSE: NORWAY
Seth: "I can't believe I'm gonna say this — Norway. That combination of Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard and Erling Haaland could impact the game differently than Switzerland, Belgium, or Morocco. I could also see them winning the whole World Cup."
On the favorites: "Spain hasn't given up a goal yet — until they do, who's gonna beat them? Argentina is the weakest of the favorites. If Switzerland gets a 2-0 lead, they're NOT giving it up."
⚽ THE ENGLAND PATH
Seth: "England can beat Norway. And let's play it ahead — I think England beats Argentina. That means you're in the final against France or Spain, but you don't have to go through BOTH. That's huge for England."
Scott: "I've given it out multiple times — it's still England for me at +480."
⚾ SETH ON MLB'S REVENUE CRISIS
The Real CBA Problem
The RSN collapse: 22 of 30 teams came into this season WITHOUT a regional sports network.
Seth: "It used to be charming to have low-payroll teams compete — the A's, the Twins, the 2002 Expos. The difference now is the business model is not sustainable. Revenue discrepancy is at an all-time high."
The NFL Lesson
Seth: "In the 1960s, Pete Rozelle got on his hands and knees and begged the Bears, Steelers, and Giants not to sign separate TV deals. The only way this sport works is one contract. Today every NFL broadcast partner is split evenly — the Packers make the same as everyone."
The MLB version: "Manfred wants one umbrella, one app. This labor negotiation is about convincing the Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers to abandon known income. The union says this is an owners-versus-owners fight. A salary cap is not the solution — the only way baseball thrives is if every team has the same revenue. And Dodgers ownership is gonna say 'over my dead body.' That's why you have a problem."
🎾 WIMBLEDON SEMIFINALS
Sinner vs Djokovic
| Market | Odds |
|---|---|
| Sinner (semifinal) | -430 |
| Djokovic (semifinal) | +340 |
To Win Wimbledon
| Player | Odds |
|---|---|
| Sinner | -240 |
| Djokovic | +550 |
| Fritz | +850 |
| Zverev | 9/1 |
Seth: "Sinner is going to beat him, and Sinner's not going to wilt. He'll beat Zverev, he'll beat Fritz. Jannik Sinner is the best tennis player on the planet. That's the only bet you can place."
On Djokovic: "His best opportunity was the French when Alcaraz was hurt and Sinner got eliminated. That's not happening this time. He's only training for these majors — what's he doing?"
On the women's side: "Top four seeds are all out. It's much more wide open — that's why I gravitate to the women's game."
