The Bracket Is Broken
Bearman: "Germany versus France in the Round of 16? Two of the top five teams? There's gotta be a way where the bracket is more equal."
Scott: "You took a 16-team bracket that was fairly equal. You add eight third-place teams that are not all created equal, and now you got a bracket that makes no sense."
The fix: Third-place teams play a play-in game (like the First Four in March Madness).
