Edmonton Oilers to Win in Regulation / 60 Min Line (-115)
The Pittsburgh Penguins travel to Edmonton for a matchup with the Oilers and former Penguins Goaltender, Tristan Jarry. Since joining the Oilers, Jarry has posted a 4-1-1 record and a 2.48 GAA with a .904 SV%, giving Edmonton a clear advantage in net tonight.
The driving force behind this play though, is the terrible situational spot for Pittsburgh. The Penguins are coming off a win in Calgary last night and then traveled to Edmonton for this game tonight. This season, teams playing on the road on the 2nd night of a back to back have gone 64-97 Straight Up (39.8%). If you blindly just bet against all these teams, you would be +$1105 this season.
The money line tonight is Oilers -175, which, if it's within your risk tolerance, is a fine play. Instead, I'd like to reduce the juice (trademark pending...Kidding, but maybe I shouldn't be kidding? hmm that's a good idea, you're not gonna...okay...) and go with the Oilers to win in Regulation at -115. This can also be found on your sportsbook as the 60 Minute Line or 3-way line. While we could take a shot at +145 or so for the Oilers to win -1.5, I'd rather just go with the win in regulation because teams in these bad spots like the Penguins, have actually covered the Puck Line a good amount (85-76, 52.8%). So let's avoid a let down and just hope the Oilers take care of business without needing Overtime.
