Bettor Day NFL Prop Shop

Week 5 · October 11th

Happy Week 5, Bettor Day family! Brandon Kravitz here, back at it to sort through the best props across the land of sportsbooks and exchanges.

Consider this your weekly Prop Shop in the National Football League. I’ll try to bring you nothing but value, great prices, and highly actionable angles.

A couple of nice plus-money hits last week, with Puka Nacua and Ollie Gordon coming through for us! Let’s see if we can keep it rolling with my four favorite plays of the weekend.

ARI TE Trey McBride 10+ receptions (+200, Hard Rock) — This angle is a popular one this week, and we’re hopping on board. But we’re not just dipping our toes in the water. We’re going all-in.

Trey McBride is a reception machine, racking up more catches in 2025 than any tight end EVER. This week, he goes up against the tight end giving tree that is the Detroit Lions defense.

The Lions have been the worst defense against the tight end position this season, but they’re not just bad. They’re historically bad. From a fantasy perspective, Detroit has allowed the most PPR receiving points to tight ends through Weeks 1-4 of any season in the 2000s.

Throw in the fact that Marvin Harrison Jr is out before being traded, and what do you think Trey McBride is going to do to the Lions in the Valley?

PIT WR Roman Wilson o39.5 receiving yards (-117, BetRivers) — Next man up for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who come into this matchup with arguably the best scheduling advantage of any team in the NFL this weekend.

The Colts are coming back from London, while the Steelers have had 10 days to prepare following last Thursday night's game. So, we've got a fresh team coming off a loss, taking on a shaky Colts secondary dealing with short rest and extensive travel. You can see where Pittsburgh might find some success through the air.

But the biggest reason I love this prop is the absence of Michael Pittman and the consistency of Roman Wilson's involvement. He's seen exactly six targets in every game this season. That's the kind of reliable opportunity we're looking for when betting receiving props.

Wheels up for the Steelers' de facto No. 2 wide receiver in Week 5.

MIA RB Ollie Gordon u46.5 rushing yards (-115, DraftKings) — It was great to see the Dolphins cover a spread for the first time this season, and equally encouraging to see them finally have some success on the ground.

Before Gordon exploded for 100 rushing yards last week in Minnesota, Miami's leading rusher had topped out at just 74 yards over the previous three weeks.

As much as I appreciate Ollie coming through with the anytime touchdown for us last week, I think it's time to pivot.

Gordon wasn't exactly the star of training camp. That distinction belonged to Jaylen Wright, who had Dolphins beat writers gushing throughout the summer. I think Jeff Hafley and company will look to get Wright more involved moving forward.

Hafley was even asked about Wright's workload this week and confirmed as much, telling reporters, "He didn't have many attempts, but he's going to."

There's also the matter of the matchup. Minnesota is extremely blitz-happy, and allowing some success on runs up the middle is practically a byproduct of its defensive philosophy.

That's not the case with Cincinnati. It's exactly why the Bengals went out and acquired Dexter Lawrence: to clog up those interior running lanes.

Gordon is coming off his best performance of the season, and the market is understandably reacting. But between the potential for a more balanced backfield and a less favorable matchup, I see an opportunity to sell high.

We'll zig while everyone else zags with Gordon.

HOU QB C.J. Stroud o1.5 passing touchdowns (+117, NoVig) — Houston is up against it at 0-4. It's do or die. It's now or never. And it's pretty much all on C.J. Stroud.

The defense has been much leakier than expected, allowing explosive plays at a rate we simply didn't anticipate coming into the season. Meanwhile, the running game has been practically nonexistent.

Houston ranks third-worst in the NFL in rushing yards per game and 21st in EPA per rush. It's not pretty.

The good news? Stroud is slinging it, especially when Nico Collins is on the field. He's thrown multiple touchdown passes in both games he's played alongside Nico this season.

Add to that a Titans defense that's in rough shape.

Through four weeks, Tennessee ranks 30th in the league in Havoc rate, which measures the percentage of defensive plays that result in a pressure, tackle for loss, forced fumble, interception, or pass breakup.

In other words, this defense isn't exactly making life difficult for opposing quarterbacks.

With Houston desperate for its first win, a struggling ground game, and a favorable matchup against a defense that hasn't generated much disruption, I expect Stroud to let it fly.

Give me multiple touchdown passes from C.J. in a must-win spot.

Good luck. Godspeed. Let's cash these tickets!
