San Francisco Giants First 5 Innings Team Total OVER 2.5 Runs

Tonight, we’re rolling with the highest-rated offense on Batters-Box, the San Francisco Giants. They bring four elite-rated hitters, plus two more with strong grades. As a unit, their average hitter matchup rating is elite. Even better, they don’t have a single hitter with a poor rating or one striking out above the league average, and just three hitters sit above the league average ground ball rate.

San Francisco also gets a great matchup against Germán Márquez, who owns the worst pitcher rating on the slate. He also ranks worst among Tuesday’s starters in average hitter matchup wOBA, hard contact, and strikeout rate. This spring, across 74 batters faced, Márquez posted a 7.16 ERA while allowing 40.5% hard contact, a 9.5% barrel rate, and a 26.2% line drive rate.

It doesn’t get much better when you look at last season. Against right-handed hitters, the 31-year-old posted a 7.18 ERA and 5.14 xERA, while allowing 47.6% hard contact. Opponents tagged him for a .313 xBA and .505 xSLG. That’s a problem here, especially with four of the Giants’ top five rated hitters swinging from the right side. To make matters worse, Márquez did not have a single pitch grade above league average last season.

At +120, this is a great price for a lineup that can put runs.
